Biography
Ava Decatur is dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace. She believes therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, compassion, and achievable goals, where clients can safely navigate challenges while honoring their unique identities and perspectives. Her approach is client-centered, strength-based, and informed by multicultural and existential frameworks.
As a counselor-in-training, Ava integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support personal growth, emotional regulation, and skill-building. She works with clients to identify patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and cultivate greater self-understanding and self-compassion. Ava has previous experience supporting individuals with eating disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Ava understands that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, especially for those accustomed to handling challenges on their own. She is honored to walk alongside clients in their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and meaningful growth.
