Biography

Mary Moussa is a Licensed Clinical Counselor in the state of Virginia. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Ms. Moussa has a substance abuse certificate to work with individuals with addiction problems. She received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help individuals with severe trauma histories. Ms. Moussa has also received specialized training in Sand Therapy, Play Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Integrated Play Therapy (TF IPT).

Ms. Moussa has worked in various settings, including hospitals, partial hospital programs, and outpatient mental health programs. She has experience providing evidenced-informed individual, family-focused, and group therapy treatment to children, adolescents, and adults impacted by trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

Mary is also fluent in Arabic and has studied women’s rights and child-parent relationships pertaining to Middle Eastern culture.
