Biography
Dorothy Li is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients can begin to find language for emotions that may have gone unspoken for a long time. She recognizes that no one is meant to navigate unpaved paths alone, especially when experiences are shaped by intergenerational trauma, unprocessed childhood wounds, societal expectations, and the intersectional identities that influence both who we are and who we are becoming. Dorothy understands that taking the first steps toward therapy can bring uncertainty or ambivalence, and she strives to make healing feel both permissible and possible.
As a master’s-level clinician in training under the supervision of Mary Mousa, MA, NCC, LPC, CSAC, Dorothy approaches therapy through a client-centered, compassionate, and strength-based lens. Her work is grounded in existential and multicultural frameworks, with deep respect for each client’s lived experience and cultural context. She uses an eclectic and individualized approach to foster affirming, emotionally safe therapeutic spaces.
Dorothy believes healing is nonlinear and rooted in curiosity, insight, and the gradual development of emotional awareness. She honors the vulnerability it takes to begin therapy and is dedicated to walking alongside clients as they move toward healing, self-discovery, and deeper connection with themselves.
