Biography

Michael has worked in substance use and mental health treatment since 2000. He has engaged in various experiences that have included work with adolescents, adults, and families in inpatient, long-term residential, intensive outpatient, individual and group formats. Michael has earned an AAS in Substance Abuse Counseling (2000), a BA in Psychology (2005), and an MA in Professional Counseling (2011). Michael is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). 

Michael’s specialty is in addiction counseling to which he brings a compassionate, balanced perspective that engages clients from a strengths-based approach integrating cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, dialectical behavioral, narrative, and existential systems to therapy. Michael uses motivational interviewing to develop a therapeutic alliance and collaboration with clients. Michael is committed to helping clients connect with their strengths, heal and engage in their lives to the fullest extent.
